Pakistani summers are brutal on makeup. Between 40°C heat, humidity in Karachi and sweat on the commute, foundation slides, kajal smudges and lipstick fades before lunch. You do not need expensive products to fix this – you need the right order and a few smart swaps.
1. Start with a cool, clean face
Wash with a gentle cleanser and cool water. Use a light, oil-free moisturiser – skipping moisturiser actually makes oily skin produce more oil.
2. Use a primer where you get oily
Apply a pore filler primer on your nose, forehead and chin. It fills pores and gives foundation something to grip.
3. Go lighter on foundation
In summer, less is more. Use an oil-free foundation in thin layers, or just concealer where you need it. Heavy layers are what melt first.
4. Set with powder – properly
Press (do not sweep) a loose setting powder into the skin with a puff, especially on the T-zone. For extra hold, use an oil control pressed powder to touch up later.
5. Switch to waterproof eyes
Waterproof eyeliner, kajal and mascara are non-negotiable in summer. A little powder under the lower lash line stops kajal from moving.
6. Choose matte lips
Matte liquid lipsticks and matte lip glosses last much longer than creamy formulas in heat. Line your lips first, apply one coat, blot and apply again.
7. Blot, don’t wipe
When you get shiny, press a tissue or blotting paper on the area instead of wiping, then add a thin layer of pressed powder. Wiping removes makeup; blotting removes only oil.
8. Keep a mini touch-up kit
Pressed powder, a puff, your lip colour and a kajal pencil are all you need in your bag. Explore our makeup for oily skin and waterproof makeup collections.

Frequently asked questions
How do I stop my makeup from melting in summer?
Use an oil-free moisturiser and primer, apply thin layers of foundation, press setting powder and blot instead of wiping during the day.
Is waterproof makeup necessary in summer?
Waterproof eyeliner, kajal and mascara are strongly recommended because sweat and humidity make regular formulas smudge.
Should I skip moisturiser if my skin is oily?
No. Skipping moisturiser can make skin produce more oil. Use a light, oil-free one instead.
